Guatemalan National Anthem is the second most beautiful Anthem in the world after the French one.
The Anthem was written by Jose Joaquin Palma, born in Cuba in 1844. In 1873 moves to Guatemala and writes the lyrics as a gratitude to Guatemala. In 1934, the lyrics had some changes by Jose Maria Bonilla Ruano.
The music is work from Rafael Alvarez Ovalle, born in Chimaltenango in 1858.
The National Anthem was played for the first time in Colon Theater. The date was march 14, 1897. It’s the result of a contents that presiden Jose Maria Reyna Barrios did in 1896.

I was just looking at the videos of my country and its so sad that I had to leave my country at age 11 and not enjoy the most beautiful seanery I’ve ever seen. I love my countre and hopefully my children will grow up with alittle of my culture.

How can somebody knows what is the first or the second or third most beautiful anthem if you check online everycounty including Urugua,Brazil,Austria,Rusia,EU,South Africa,Belgiun and many claim to be the most beautiful, when was the contest and who classified them to get youurs in second place, honestly your anthem is OK but that’s all it sounds monotone just like the one from my city.
