There are many options for accommodation in Guatemala City, but my favorite because it combines a good price for what you get is Xamanek Hostel. And this is only one of the many reasons to choose it, because you will find yourself with an amazing staff that will try to help you from the moment you arrive in Guatemala until the moment you leave .
The Hostel is located in the best zone of Guatemala City. This is perhaps the safest zone in the here, and it is also packed with many nice restaurants and fun pubs and discos. Looking around you will be able to choose from a nice Guatemalan meal for dinner to some delicious sushi, and after that you will have more than a dozen places where to go out and enjoy a drink and dance.
Xamanek is also just a few blocks away from Reforma Avenue, where you will be able to find buses with the most important routes of the city. Also on Sundays, this avenue becomes one of Guatemalan“s families favorite places to go out, because it is closed for cars, giving people the chance to go out in their bicycles, rolling blades, skateboards or simply walking the dog with the rest of the family.
Shared rooms in Xamanek cost $14 / person and the private ones if you are looking for some privacy is $35 / two persons. The breakfast is included. They also have a really nice garden, where in sunny days you can enjoy of the sun while reading a book, or have drink with the rest of the guests at night. They have a living room with cable television and a very nice and equipped kitchen. La Torre Supermarket is just 4 blocks away, been just a few minutes away to get everything you need to make yourself a nice meal or buy drinks for a party. And they also have free internet access.
They are located in 13 Calle 3-57 Zona 10. If you are coming from the airport in a bus, you need to take the number #63 and ask the bus driver to drop you in the corner of the 13th street and you will just need to walk less than 3 blocks to find it. They can also arrange airport pick ups.

BEEN THERE ! I spent a week in Xamanek last February and it was just perfect. Cristina was very helpful in explaining the town left and right, and it was really easy to go everywhere from zona 10. I highly recommend it.
